Using Video Conference for Education and Training

Filed under: Video Conference — Web Conference Editor @ 7:08 pm

Different facets of web conferencing are used each and every day by various types of businesses and organizations. While an audio conference meets the needs of some groups, other groups demand a web conference. Further still, in some cases a video conference is the only effective solution for meeting the needs of a group presentation. This is especially true in the case of trainings or educational demonstrations being led by internet video conference.

Learning many new skills requires demonstrations by skilled practitioners. Certain skills such as first aid and sign language simply cannot be learned without having demonstration. For remote or distance learning, a video conference can enable instructors to demonstrate to pupils proper techniques of certain tasks. Students can watch in real time to observe the demonstration and further apply this to their own personal practice.

A video conference goes both ways. In addition to pupils seeing the instructor’s presentation, a video conference also allows the instructor to view each of the students in real time on their monitor. This allows for group interaction and skill building by offering the instructor a forum to provide feedback to students from a remote location even, enhancing the knowledge received from instruction by video conference.

Distance learning has gained in popularity over recent years. Some colleges are almost solely based online providing college level education to students anywhere in the world using a simple internet connection and a video conference. Through the power of the internet, a video conference can provide real time interaction between students and instructors. Facilitating this transaction of knowledge across all boundaries is instrumental in educating people everywhere on life skills beneficial to all. In many cases without a video conference this education would simply not be possible due to living in remote locations or having an inability to leave one’s home.
