Video Conference for the Big Pitch

Filed under: Video Conference — Web Conference Editor @ 1:44 pm

We have a huge sales pitch coming up; something so big that if we are able to win this client it could literally change the face of the company. We would have to hire more staff to service this one client and our profits would be dramatically increased. Further, our alignment with such a client would catapult us into the next stratosphere in terms of reputation. It’s a big deal all around and we have been preparing for it nonstop for weeks. The challenge, however, is more than just how to communicate what we can offer this client in as succinct a way as possible. The biggest challenge is the fact that the company we are pitching is in another country and we are not able to travel to meet with them. In fact, they have requested that we do a video conference to pitch our services.

Using video conference in this manner is taking technology to the next level. We have all used web conferencing before - as well as audio conferencing - and we have used video conference here and there. But this will be the biggest thing we have ever used video conference to do and it’s certainly the next best thing to actually meeting face to face with our prospective clients. Through video conference we can see each other as well as hear each other and it gives us the ability to not only present our information but open up the presentation to questions and answers.

Most importantly, video conference will not only allow us to showcase our abilities through our presentation but will give our prospective clients insight into how we can service them going forward if we win their business. Obviously technology will be a big part of this relationship and it’s best to start out showing how comfortable we are working within it.

Web Conferencing Helps Organize Efforts

Filed under: Web Conferencing — Web Conference Editor @ 7:20 pm

The Internet has had far-reaching impact in business; there’s no doubt about that. A variety of doors have opened in the face of technology - allowing companies to conduct business with each other a world away. This has allowed companies to operate branch offices with the help of convenient communication and given us the ability to work for clients outside of our physical proximity and still deliver them with superior service.

Of course the opening of all of these doors - the ability to conduct business on such a large scale - can be chaotic if not kept in check and communication is the key. Web conferencing and other teleconferencing services allows this business to be conducted with ease and free flowing communication. The benefits of such technology include:

Consistency - Everything from audio conferencing to video conference can be scheduled to take place when you want them to. So whether you need a weekly meeting or even a daily meeting to manage a project, teleconferencing services give you the consistency you need regardless of the distance between attendees.

Control - When business happens across the miles it can see difficult to manage all the pieces of the puzzle; to feel in control of the situation at all times. Web conference, audio conferencing, and video conference give you comprehensive tools for managing your business and the projects at hand.

Self-Promotion - No matter what we do in business we want to make sure it goes a long way towards showing us in the best possible light. Web conferencing, audio conferencing, and video conference show clients around the world that you are up the challenge of handling their business whether you are in the same town or different countries.

Communication - This kind of technology goes hand in hand with email - allowing us to communicate most effectively on a moment to moment basis to handle whatever comes our way.

Video Conference Gets Me the Job

Filed under: Video Conference — Web Conference Editor @ 10:55 am

Like many people right now I had been out of work for some time and looking for the next best position; and if I was really being honest with myself I would say that I was just looking for anything that I could get because there just wasn’t a lot out there. To make matters worse, when a position did become available it would be flooded with thousands of applications and resumes and I found myself lost in the shuffle. Competition was one thing; but this was a matter of standing out in a crowd (literally). I had to think of something that would get me noticed and so I thought of video. When the next potential jobs came to my attention I sent a video resume along with a traditional resume. In the video I gave some highlights about my work experience, my qualifications, and my achievements; but most of all I kept it light and informal so that those hiring could get a sense of my personality. One company responded almost immediately with another request of me - a video conference.

The job in question was several states away and I had made it clear that I would absolutely relocate. However, an in-person interview - especially with the position was being filled so quickly - could be difficult on both ends. When the hiring company saw my video resume they responded with another chance to get on camera and make the interview process easy and convenient for everyone - without sacrificing that personal contact.

We set up a video conference that allowed us to “meet” and conduct the formal interview. I thought this was a great way for us to get to know each other in a slightly unconventional, but still enormously effective way. Ultimately I did get the job and I know that my video resume and the resulting video conference had everything to do with that.

Video Conference for the Next Generation, Part II

Filed under: Video Conference, Web Conferencing — Web Conference Editor @ 11:59 am

In the last post I talked about how I had recently taken over our family business - something that I had been groomed to do since I was a small child. I was definitely nervous in my new role but at the same time it all came naturally to me. I knew this business inside and out. Plus, I was anxious to put some new programs in place; things that my father had not been enthusiastic about trying but that I knew would help our business grow. I was most excited about web conferencing and video conference because I knew that they would allow us to expand our business on a national scale.

We began to use web conferencing in a variety of situations - including as a vehicle for conducting sales presentations to potential clients that were too far away to travel to affordably. My father did not like the idea of “talking” online and thought that it would undermine the personal relationships on which he built this company and our reputation for providing personal service. I was able to show him, however, that the beauty of communicating in this manner was that it showcased our desire and ability to utilize modern technology AND still maintain a personal relationship with our customers.

Video conference was even more impressive on this front. I began to use video conference to check in with our customers. Usually we made phone calls; but with video conference we could “meet” in real time even without being in the same location. A face to face meeting - even in this capacity showed our customers how dedicated we were to giving them the time and attention they deserved.

As far as I’m concerned, embracing teleconferencing services allows us to simultaneously embrace the past and the future of this company; and that’s something even my father can get behind.

Video Conference for the Next Generation, Part I

Filed under: Video Conference, Web Conference — Web Conference Editor @ 1:03 pm

In our family owned business it has been my father at the helm for as long as I can remember. I was groomed from a very young age to know that I would one day run this company and it has always been something to which I have looked forward with equal parts anticipation and responsibility. I spent a lifetime of summer vacations and winter breaks in my family’s company learning it from the inside out so that I could one day take my rightful place as owner. I never thought that I would actually ever see the day that my father would retire but it came last year and although he can often be found roaming around the offices on most days he has, for all intents and purposes, relinquished control to me. I was chomping at the bit to take the company in a new, more modern direction; I felt strongly that there were many things that we could be doing to stay more competitive but they were not things my father would feel comfortable pursuing. Now that I’m charge I went right to work on bringing us into the next generation of technology.

Some of the things that I was set on bringing in to our business were the use of such technology as web conference and video conference. I knew that there was a whole world of business out there; business that we were not going after because my father felt that we couldn’t bridge the distance and communicate with our customers effectively if they were on the other side of the country or in another country altogether. I quickly showed everyone how web conference would allow us to meet with clients no matter where they were and that we could have meetings in which we could even see each other - giving us the ability to showcase our talents and still deliver that personal touch my father so values. Using Web Conferencing Effectively

Filed under: Video Conference, Web Conference, Web Conferencing — Web Conference Editor @ 1:06 pm

Technology has certainly moved at the speed of light and it’s been up to all of us - on a personal and business level - to find our comfort level among the many applications that are available to us. It is one thing to learn how to use something and another altogether to use it effectively - in a way that allows you to promote your company and grow your business in one way or another. Web conferencing is a part of the newest technology that is currently available to us - along with applications such as audio conferencing and video conference. These teleconferencing services allow us to communicate with clients, vendors, and coworkers most effectively and conveniently but it’s especially important that we use them to the best of our ability in order to help us the most.

Web conferencing, for example, is great if you working on a project with others who are not in your physical proximity. But the best way to use web conferencing in this day and age is to showcase your ability as a company to service clients who may not be in your neck of the woods, so to speak. Use web conferencing to pitch new clients, conduct weekly meetings to update involved parties on the status of an ongoing project or to go over important documents that are relevant to the business at hand.

Video conference will allow you to “meet” in real time without having to actually be in the same room with each other.

Audio conferencing allows you to connect a multitude of parties easily and conveniently.

No matter how you use web conference, audio conferencing, or video conference - if you use them to the best of your ability and extract all that they have to offer you will be doing your part to grow your business in this technological age.

The New Year of Teleconferencing Services

Filed under: Teleconferencing Services, Web Conference — Web Conference Editor @ 9:49 am

I love the New Year; it gives all of us a chance to essentially start over and put new plans in place . So no matter what we might have done in the year previous (within reason) we all have our opportunity to make it right. There’s nothing like a fresh start in my opinion. Of course, there are personal clean slates and there are professional clean slates. In business we utilize the New Year as a tool to make financial plans for the coming months. We put together marketing plans, budgets, and more. This year we are also putting together a plan for teleconferencing services - something that we are confident will help us build our business more effectively.

Teleconferencing services - including audio conferencing, web conferencing, and video conference - are a part of modern technology and help companies to better communicate. We have held off on using web conference or anything like it simply because we were unsure about how it all worked and were intimated by the process. But now that we have a new marketing manager - one who is very savvy about this kind of technology we are looking to embrace these measures of communication and use them to our advantage.

Our new marketing guy wants to use video conference in new business pitches so we can reach out to potential clients around the world and web conference to work more efficiently on client projects without having to conduct face-to-face meetings. He feels confident that this will help us to expand our client base and definitely improve our branding on a global scale.

In the coming year web conference and video conference will most definitely be a part of the mix for our business. We are happy to be able to use this modern technology in order to start with a clean slate this year and reach new levels of success.

Web Conferencing for the New Year, Part II

Filed under: Web Conferencing — Web Conference Editor @ 12:11 pm

In the last post I talked about my hesitancy to learn any new technology that comes my way. I always kept it at arm’s length but I couldn’t do that when it came to my business; I had to use technology to my advantage and it was absolutely crucial to being able to do business with companies around the world. While audio conferencing had been the only thing that I had experienced up until that point I was fast becoming familiar with web conferencing now that I was required to work with a client who was far away physically.

Web conferencing allowed me to work on projects day to day with a client who needed a lot of management. I didn’t have to worry about messages being lost in translation via email or trying to get various parties on the phone. Web conference gave me the ability to talk in real time to all of the participants in the project and to go over documents together online.

I began to get really comfortable with web conferencing but then it was on to something else - video conference. We were pitching a client that was in another country and they wanted personalized service even though we were so far away. We were able to service them very effectively but video conference took it to the next level. Through video conference we could see as well as hear the other parties involved in the meeting and it was really something to be able to feel as though we were in the same room with our client without leaving our offices.

Video conference - and web conferencing - has changed the way that I think about technology. I am no longer afraid to jump in and see what it’s all about. I have seen firsthand how much benefit it can bring to the table.

Web Conferencing for the New Year, Part I

Filed under: Web Conference, Web Conferencing — Web Conference Editor @ 9:18 pm

I will fully admit that I am not one to embrace technology with wild abandon. In fact, I am much more the type to be dragged kicking and screaming into the next phase of technology and even when I am finally using it I am doing so begrudgingly. This may be acceptable in my personal life but most definitely not in the world of business. When it comes to my professional life I know that I need to be more accepting and open to technology because it is, quite simply, crucial to the future of business. So, when it comes to business I have been far more accommodating than I would likely be otherwise; and it has afforded me many surprises in that I have found that I quite enjoy and even rely upon many of these tools, including web conferencing.

If you would have asked me last year about teleconferencing services the only thing I would have been remotely familiar with is audio conferencing - something that we have used in our business quite often. But web conference and video conference were another story entirely. When we first began to use web conferencing and then video conference I was completely intimidated but I soon realized how many benefits these tools delivered.

Web conferencing is something that we began using for one of our clients for which we manage many projects. We needed to be able to go over documents on a near daily basis - among five team members. The problem was that this client was across the country from us and we needed a much better way to communicate than through email. Web conferencing allowed us to talk in real time and share documents among the team so that we could make changes on the fly and continue onward towards completing the tasks at hand. I thought web conference was great and I became more and more comfortable with it over time. Then video conference was the new kid on the block; more in the next post…

Teleconferencing Services Can Ignite Your Business

Filed under: Teleconferencing Services — Web Conference Editor @ 2:27 pm

While the old adage that it takes money to make money is generally true, there are some instances where it doesn’t hold water. When you use teleconferencing services to boost your business, you can see sparks ignite without having to spend a bundle in the process.

Web conferencing services provide the perfect platform for any company to realize growth without having to shell out a lot to make it happen. Combining the power of an audio conference and a video conference together, a web conference enables companies to do a number of things that used to be reserved only for face-to-face situations.

So, how can you grow your business using teleconferencing services?

Here are just a few of the possibilities:

Sales meetings – The web conference format is becoming very popular for sales professionals the world over. Clients are becoming very used to meeting in real time with representatives that might be half a world away. The audio and visual communications abilities provided by a web conference make the format work perfectly for sales.

Staff meetings – Expanding a company into a new territory no longer calls for tons of airline travel. Teleconferencing services can keep offices connected more efficiently and less expensively. The format is ideal for regular staff meetings, planning session and even training. There really isn’t a reason to jump on a plane for everything when web conferencing is used to its greatest advantage.

Marketing – Many companies are taking advantage of teleconferencing services to replace more time consuming and costly seminars. The format is popular not only with corporate accountants, but also attendees because of the convenience factor.

Teleconferencing services provide a way for businesses to gain a lot of ground without spending a fortune in the process. There’s no reason to always believe that it takes a lot of money to see a return on investment.
